I am a bit late sharing this news, but I'm very happy to report that doctoral candidate Mara McPartland has won an Interdisciplinary Doctoral Fellowship from the University of Minnesota Graduate School.
Through this award, Mara will be seconded to UMN's Center for Forest Ecology for the 2020-21 academic year. Mara will collaborate with Dr. Peter Reich to investigate how Northern Hemisphere forests are reacting to ongoing climate change.
Mara was also selected as a winner of this year's Louise Dosdall Fellowship, which supports graduate students in any field of the natural or physical sciences who show exceptional promise for a successful career in research. But because doctoral candidates can only hold one fellowship at a time, she was obliged to forgo that award.
Congratulations (twice over) to Mara!
