Last month I was interviewed by a writer hired by my college, and her story was posted online yesterday:
I was really pleased the story gave emphasis to Alexander von Humboldt. I'm a huge fan of Inventing Nature, the wonderful biography by Andrea Wulf, and agree with her argument that his contributions to natural science don't get the attention they deserve. Besides that, it gives a good summary of the work that we'll be undertaking in 2017, including Uday Thapa's dendro-hydrological project in eastern Nepal and our new NSF-funded megadrought project with Cornell. Overall, this article gives us a nice push to get in going the New Year!
